she sings in the bath and when she runs out of money she’ll be dancing all night long to a rock’n’roll band
he laughs like a child, and isn’t it funny how life just seems to hold her in it’s hand?

what if we all looked for the rainbow instead of the coming rain?
what if we all could catch the starlight instead of the morning train?
what if are hearts could be as open as a ship out on the sea?
and if we lived the way that Jane does
what kind of world would this be?

my friend Jane is usually smiling but when she cries the whole world falls apart
it’s a magical thing, no use defiling ‘cos nothing will ever drain it from her heart

and there was a time I seem remember when we’d ride on through the night with our hearts so free
we were living on hope and the will to surrender and we thought it was the way we’d always be

what if we all looked for the rainbow...

I was thinking about planting some flowers
I was thinking how I really want to travel the world
I was thinking I could love you for hours and hours
and run out and play just like a little girl
